Our purpose

Why NetThunder exists.

NetThunder grew in part out of red-teaming work and the endless administration needed to keep infrastructure running. Its purpose is to make customer-controlled systems practical to build, secure, and maintain.

Red-teaming brings an adversarial perspective to infrastructure: how could access be misused, where are the trust boundaries, and what happens when the system changes? Day-to-day administration brings another set of questions: what depends on this component, what else needs updating, and how do we keep the environment consistent as it grows?

Those concerns meet in the relationships between systems. A change to an application can reach into storage, networking, identity, and security controls. Maintaining those connections by hand creates recurring work every time equipment, software, or requirements change.

NetThunder was built to carry more of that integration work in software. By maintaining the environment’s configuration and dependency relationships, it helps teams coordinate changes across supported infrastructure while retaining control over how their systems operate. The aim is to give people more time for engineering, production, and the work their infrastructure exists to support.
